My peacocks are starting to get bigger. They're about 1 1/2 inches now. Some of them have gotten egg spots on their anal fins. Some have a 'colored' border on their dorsal fins. Some have both. Does that mean that they MIGHT be males. Yes, i know there was always a 50/50 chance they might be males but do these "signs" mean anything?

I don't keep peacocks, but you cannot tell with Mbuna, as some females have egg spots. However, the female Mbuna are duller in color than the males, but they are not brown and I would guess the peacocks are the same way. Another anatomical feature to look at is the dorsal fin. If it's pointed, then it's a male and if it's rounded, then male. I don't know if that works 100% of the time, but that has lined up nicely with my known females and my showy males.

Did you mean if it's rounded it's FEMALE?
