Hi 
I have a 70-gallon Cichlid tank, has been set up for over 2 years now, it houses 1 peacock
2 electric yellow/blue adults
3 juvenile yellow / blue ( born in the tank )
1 giraffe
1 convict
1 cobalt blue
2 red jeweled adults
8 juvenile red jeweled ( born in the tank )
1 bumble bee catfish
1 pleco
My issue is with the female adult jeweled we have now named Fertile Myrtle
since christmas she has had 9 batches of fry normally most if not all have been eaten , but some have survived hence the 8 youngins lol
My questions are
1 # how many batches of fry can one set of parents have ( omg will she ever stop ) #cancichlidshavehysterectomys :/ lol
2 # do the jewels mate for life ? I have another 55 gallon I can set up , but feel guilty separating the 2 adults as they are glued to eachother
