Fish compatability

So im looking for a new tank mate for my fish. I currently have a standard 55g with a black convict and a jd. Both are about 2.5 to 3 inch. They get along great but i was looking to add another. Any suggestions?

a 55 is the min tanksize for a single jack demspey.

How about a Firemouth cichlid. They're average sized not getting more than 6" to 7". Which would be right in between the adult size of the JD and the Convict.

Your pretty much full as it stands, Once your fish are full grown. Your JD will be average 8-10 inches and your Convict 5-6 inches.

What about some sort of crustation or an eel? Would my fish eat them?

if the eel digs it may be fine but i would think that once the jd gets bigger if the eel does come out it would be a snack
