Picked these guys up yesterday for an absolute steal. The guy bought them as surinamensis so thats what I bought them as. I read surinamensis aren't in Australia and that they are most likely brachybranchus. I don't mind what they are I like them anyway but it would be nice to know what I've got swimming around in my tank.

No geo specialist but was just looking at some Winemilleri and they look awful similar?
I just looked at pics of both and couldn't tell which was which?
 
There are several species that look very similar. I'd have to sit down and look closely to be for sure, but I have heard that brachybranchus is extremely common in Australia

If you are on FB there is a group called "the geo life" C.J. Bourg is a moderator on there and would be a good 2nd opinion.
 
I think it may be a closer group, but I think you can request to be added. I would definitely ask him if you can. He's my Geo go-to
