GT spawn?

Question,
What exactly do healthy gt eggs look like.
I have a female fanning something inside a ceramic barrel in the tank.
Unfortunatly it's not in a very good position to see in properly but theres a whole pile of something a little bit bigger then grains of sand with a white/brownish colour.

Background: She totally cleared out an area around the barrell, theres piles of sand everywhere.
I didn't notice any courting or anything out of the ordinary, but i've never kept to many gt's so I wouldn't know.
The last 4 days she has been hiding in the barrel it seems shes fanning these things around as they sway back and forth with the odd one darting in and out...
Shes very over-protective of her barrel, only comes out to eat and shoo the male away. He is also alot more protective of her when I come to have a look.

Could I be right to assume she has spawned?
Pics won't be possible, due to the position the barrel is in, and I won't be moving it until I know for sure.
