Hi. There isn't much info. online on these fish. How big will he get? It says not to confuse with copadichromis, but pretty sure mine is chrysonotus..
Thanks

That's a Copadichromis azureus, This cichlid is often sold under the name Haplochromis chrysonotus but should not be confused with Copadichromis chrysonotus, a distinctly different fish. Haplochromis chrysonotus is an older name for C. azureus.

he looks different now, but thought another pic might help. I'm afraid he might be stressed from bullying =( my never ending battle.. I also wonder about the black spot on his head, but my red jake has that too (a black strip on tail) coloring, I guess

he's in a 75g with 4 peacocks and a yellow lab.. I've separated the bully, but am afraid that another fish has picked up where that one left off. I might try to get a better pic later. It's wc day and I'm going to rearrange let the bully out and hope for the best. I don't want to rehome any of them but am running out of ideas/options. I've rearranged, left lights off.. separated.. idk

I think a major problem is your have incompatible stock/number of fish in to small of a tank without enough territories to claim.

yes I recently bought a 125 on craigslist for oscar, fm, sevs. These guys get their 6 footer soon, then my JD gets the 75..

this is pretty much how he usually looks, a little better than yesterday. Couldn't it also be because he's not the dominant fish?

some more pics of my smaller hap, he's colored up more now. He has a yellowish looking strip along top of dorsal. I'm thinking maybe this guy:

because he has a shine down the middle at times and black spotting/coloration on head and dorsal, also the yellow strip on dorsal, but don't know if head shape looks right. He was sold to me as just chryso. hap, but I don't think he looks like azeurus (sp?)
