I have 2 kribensis cichlids that have been in my tank a while but they were bought at separate times from different stores because each store only had one left and one claims to be male and the other is supposedly female but their rear fins are completely different looking. From my research there is a difference in dorsal fins but they look fairly similar besides the fact they have different back fins. The rounded one is the “male” and the cool unique one is the “female”. Could I get some help identifying them? They both seem to be pretty passive in social behavior besides the rounded back fin one tends to be the more dominant fish in the tank but rarely go after other fish.
They are both Kribensis cichlids. The top picture is a male. The other 2 pictures could be a female but the fish in these 2 pictures is deformed and should not be used for breeding. It should have been euthanised when it was small.

Can I ask about what the deformity is? Is it the rear fin?
