Why would you want to use live ocean sand in a cichlid tank? First of all, its way expensive. Second, at best the "live" part is saltwater bacteria which will not survive in freshwater, so basically you would be adding a bunch of expensive sand full of dead organic matter to your tank.
Just use a dry bag of aragonite sand and rinse well before you use it. Much cheaper and not full of organic matter.

They make a cichlid live sand from that same company!
It's a white-tan sand with a bunch of small to medium shells, and has all the benif bacteria in it
