Ok...so I have a 55 gal. and was wanting to get some tropheus moorii purple lufubu...I've done my research and was wondering, is there any other species of African cichlids that looks like the lufubu that would be easier to maintain? I love the look and colors of the lufubu...but everything that I have read says that they are a challenge to keep even to the advanced aquarist. I love the deep blue, green, and purple colors of the lufubu...I'm a sucker for a fish that has the colors of a peacock (the bird). I'm not a huge fan of the peacock cichlid species, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AA,

There are dozens of Victorians that would fit that description such as the Xystichromis sp. Kyoga flameback. Here is a good list on some Vics with profile pictures ad some descriptions to get you started.
