I bought this fish back in February. I bought him being told it was a Jack Dempsey. But now, I am second guessing him. He will be rehomed tomorrow. I am going to be rebuilding this 55. But when I took the picture to my trusted LFS. My friend said this looked like a TX cichlid... When I told him I went to the competitor and bought it as a JD. his reply was well, maybe I'm not seeing it in the photo... Anyways long story short... Gimme your best shot, what do you think this is. TXC or JD. Male or Female???

Edit: forgot the pictures!!

Definitely looks like a Texas to me.

I would google search on how to sex them, it's usually not easy. I still don't know what my JD's are, probably have to vent them.

I'd say Texas or maybe a jack hybrid? Green terror maybe? Fins head... Cool looking

It looks like a Texas. But there is a chance it may be a carpictus. I thing that's spelled right. They are both very closely related anyways.
