Ideal tank mate for my convict?

I have a 27 gallon cube tank. (Pics in album) With an aggressive juvinile convict cichlid (only 4.25cm big) that teared apart the 2 bristlenose catfish I tried to put with her. What fish would be suitable to put with her? I'm not looking for another convict, id prefer something different. I was thinking maybe another small to medium sized american cichlid...

Gh: 5
Water temp: 24 degrees/75 fahrenheit
Tank size: 47cm cube, 27 gallons

I know its gonna be mostly trial and error till something works, but which fish would be more suitable to try for my tank?

I wouldn't advise adding more fish if the convict is aggressive. If you had a larger tank, synodontis petricola could work
