What kind of cichlids? That is a very broad question.

I'm not sure what kind I want I'm just wondering what kind would be best in my tank and is there any kind particular that go well together

Is it a Pentagon or another shape? I can't find a 35 gallon other than pentagon. Where did you buy it at?

I got it from a friend its more rectangle

We need to know how long it is to direct you in the right way. There are many types of Cichlids I'm sure one kind or another will work.

29h maybe?

IMO Mbuna, Malawi, Vic's or tangs (except maybe some Shellie's) should not be kept in a tank with less than a 4ft footprint since height is almost useless to them.

You could do Rams... Still a member of the Cichlidae fam. I love GBR's.

Sorry had to get my nap in lol :)
That's a 25 gallon tank
With those measurements it will be pushing any cichlid that I know of really. The only one that comes to mind would be a krib but I'm not to sure on that. Here is a profile for it

You'll probably be better off keeping other freshwater fish. Hope this helps :)
