Being on the small side, maybe a species only saulosi tank. This will give a mix of colors without wondering about compatibility.
Use plenty of rocks for hiding places, no plants. Extra filtering helps plus adds to water movement.

Any particular lake? Im a fan of lake tang. I have a calvus trio in a 75 with some transcriptus and everyone gets along. Plenty of caves tho! Everyone has their territory. Could get away with a calvus and a pair of transcriptus if you have enough rock work. The transcriptus will be a vending machine for the calvus unless you save the fry!
