I have searched and Searched through many databases.

Does nay hard water cichlid pH 7.8 - 8.0 GH 5-15 that stays less than 4 inches? I would love to introduce one or serveral of the hardier species into my community tank but don't want something that will grown up to eat everyone else in the tank.

Thanks!!

most tank breed dwarfs (GBR, Apistos, Bolivians) will do ok with hard water and high PH, just do not expect them to breed :D

Let's not forget the west African species of the genus Pelvicachromis, such as pulcher (Kribensis), buffaloheads, and a couple of others.

I think Kribs would be very good. I have hard water and high Ph in my area and people do very well with Kribs. I have a pair of GBR's that are donig great as well.
