JD help!

I've got 4 JD's and 2 of them started getting black circles around their eyes, What does this mean? And I think it's a male and a female

You can't really tell but you might be able to see a black ring around his eye here

I can tell you my female got almost a solid black and my males colors got bright when they get ready to breed.
