i have nearly everything to set up a 55g for a few male Lake Victoria cichlids. Probably 4 and maybe a catfish local to Lake Victoria as wel, not sure yet. Nothing is set up though and no fish have been purchased.
What sort of, if any, inverts can I put in the tank with them? I have two other tanks right now; a 29g 3+ year established heavily planted community tank with pothos and other water rooting to air plants, and a 9g shrimp tank with orange bees, a couple glo-light tetras, and a couple otocinclus. I have been keeping tanks for over 25 years but cichlids are new to me, so I'm reaching out for advice!
I'd like shrimp and snails if possible, but I've read its not really viable. I'm absolutely willing to put in the time/effort to make it work. I've also got this cichlid trace mineral treatment from seachem with copper in it; won't that kill inverts?
