Lazy Gold Pleco :-(

Ok, my 70gal Cichlid tank is really settling in nicely. I have mostly Mbunas, and Oscar, a couple Parrot fish and a lazy Gold Nugget Pleco.

I realize the GNP is nocturnal, but even so, I rarely see him moving. I know he's eating, because it's been weeks since I brought him home. If he wasn't eating, he'd be a goner for sure right?

Is he scared of the cichlids? Maybe he's only slipping out long enough for a quick bite?

I could give him to my wife for her 55gal community tank and get something more suited for mine.

What do you think? I need a good algae eater... preferably red algae. Yum.
