lighting?

what kind of lighting is good for cichlids, i have a 96w cf 6700 on the tank im turning cichlid from a planted tank, but that seems very bright,
however i dont want to buy a new hood or alter the hood anymore, maybe i should put a 50/50 in there?

What kind of Cichlids? The color of Africans REALLY stand out with 50/50 and Actinic bulbs. That's what I use on our 150.
