We just call him the Christmas fish because he shows a lot of green and red when he gets pissed lol I would like to find out what he really is tho. It was so hard to tell when I bought him because he didn't have much color at all when he was a baby I was hoping he would of been a fulu

Looks just like him but have also seen some that have a lot more color and are still called flamebacks. some cichlids are just really hard to id.that's funny because I'm buying one of the zebras this weekend

Ya it's an Ob I like the blue in them but I myself not a big Ob fan

I haven't seen one that color before, I also have 2 fish that were sold to me as blue johannies I bought them as baby's, one grew much larger than the other and the colors are much brighter any ideas if they are even the 2 same fish? I've been questioning that also

Ele tric blue Johanni are usually not the real Johanni and are maingano. Melanochromis cyanerhabdoes is the name o the maingano. Look em up. Likely what u got and much more compatible w other mbuna. I have 5 and love em!
