Male GBR Sickly

In the past few months my rams colors started fading. At first I thought it was due to them not trying to spawn, but once the females starting showing her color the males fading got worse. He's almost a grayish color at this point and now he's staying at the bottom barely moving and kind of leaning on his side. I have also noticed a whitish/cream clump above his front fin. I have separated him from the community and started stress coat treatment. I know it's not ich and can't find anything that sounds like what I'm seeing on him. Anyone have any clue what this sounds like???

can I ask what your temp is? water params? Feed? Water change sch?

Everything was normal. He died yesterday when I got home from work. I found him floating. I have no clue what happened. My female is fine, but he just slowly started going down hill. I guess ill have to find her another hubby. She's officially a widow.
