hello I live in the most southern part of Canada (Ontario) and I have a African cichlids tank we get may flies around here like crazy by thru billions

for those who don't no what they are they live in the water for the first year or so then come.out to mate

so my question is can I feed them to my cichlids?

I wouldn't feed them daily during the season but occasionally like one a weeks or so works just fine, they are nutrient rich for insects.

What type of cichlids are we talking here? Some "African cichlids" actually eat allot insect larva and small crustacean in nature. However I am inclined to agree with Hukit that they should only be used a supplement/treat and the main portion of their diet should be comprised of a high quality pellet like NLS.
