Thus far all I have gotten my mbuna to leave alone is anubius nana. They nibble on the java fern from time to time but nothing to bad. However, when I come home from work they have uprooted all my vals. Im pretty sure it is my Aceis doing it. Idk if they are eating them but the mbuna and synodontis both seem to enjoy shredding them. The contortion vals they don't mess with as much as the jungle and corkscrew. Looks like I will be looking into more anubius. Any other thick skin, hard to kill, bitter tasting plant suggestions?

I think I remember reading once some of the thicker swords have a bitter taste. Anubias are the best way to go though for Africans.

I have some swords in mine, they chomp on those too...the only ones that I've found that they leave alone are the Anubias :)
