Hello, I have 3 baby umbrella cichlids in a 10 gallon tank that I am going to move into a 55 gallon long planted, amazon themed tank when I get it all set up and it's ran it's cycle. I am thinking about getting a couple of pairs of Rams, but I am unsure of what else to stock my tank with... I would live to stick with the dwarf cichlid theme, and I know umbrellas are a very peaceful slow moving fish, so their tank mates have to be relatively peaceful... Any advise is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Cara

Thanks Ryan so much for your reply and advise! I saw electric blue rams a while ago, they are so beautiful but expensive!

Yeah so small yet so much $. My blue ram even though he is a pig whenever he eats and thinks he is a cory cat, I love him. All cichlid have that personality that just sticks out.

Also don't forget to post pics whenever u finish too!

Yeah I am really addicted to cichlids, haha. I will post pictures for sure! ... Might be a while though, there are still a bit of supplies I need to get. I am super excited so it might not take too long.. Haha

Better off with the standard GBR, the electric blue IMO are hit and miss and tend not to last long. Bolivian Rams would be nice and a pair of Red Breast Acara - lovely little guys, one in the photo. Remember to add some Tetra in to the mix, you get to see your Cichlids more as they help them feel secure.

Thank you! :) we found the driftwood in a lake in Wyoming. We boiled and soaked it for a couple weeks. I think it is a root from a juniper tree but I'm not sure.
