New cichlid tank

Hi aĺl.
I'm looking at setting up a Malawi cichlid tank. Its a 20 Gallon tank and i use fresh tank water which is very soft. What should i put in the tank to make it harder as i believe cichlids require harder water. Can anyone help.

But one answer is to use crushed Coral either as substrate or in the filter.

20 gallons is way to small for Malawi cichlids

To be honest with 20 Gallons your looking at Rams,Apistos or Kribs something like that.Its only really big enough for dwarf cichlids.
Malawi's would turn that tank into a ticking time bomb.

If you want Africans, look into Lake Tanganyikan cichlids. I'd look at neolamprologus brevis, neolamprologus multifascitus, Lamprologus ocellatus, Neolamprologus similis, Neolamprologus Signatus
