New tank mates?

Recently had a 5" female venustus pass... Not too happy about it!!! Probably my fault cause i had a problem with my hot water heater for a few weeks... Blah!!!

Just wondering now that my tank has a lot more room now without "ghillie" what are good tank mates for africans? 2 elec. yellows and a 4" german red alunocara and 2 pictus cats are now in the tank but im lookin for something small in a school that stays mid-top tank and my africans wont destroy... Any suggestions?

take the tank apart and start over, Had the same idea awhile ago nothing will last ive been told

Im lookin for advice as to wat type of fish would work as a small school that works the top or middle of the tank
