Hi all. I'm new here and doing my best to take in all the great info! I'm a somewhat knowledgeable newbie with still many questions. One thing I can't seem to wrap my brain around is stocking, or rather crowding. I love my cichlids and want to keep the aggression in check. I know they need plenty of caves and hiding spaces, but then I read that I should overstock or crowd the tank to keep them from fighting over territory. This is where I'm confused...do I want tons of hiding spaces for them each to have their own safe space, or a bunch of them so they are distracted by each other and don't try to select a spot? Also, at the moment I've got five supposed mixed mbuna cichlids in a 55 gal and have what I'll guess to be a ?yellow lab? starting up a bully routine. So far he/she has eaten the left fin of my little blue stripey guy almost off! Any input is greatly appreciated!
