i noticed that my Moorii cichlid has been lethargic and almost going belly up so i tested the water and the nitrate is gone sky high at over 160 ppm i have had a nitrate problem for a while but this is the first time its been this bad. water changes are done weekly nitrite is 0 ppm, and the ammonia im not sure what to think it is i have a monitor in the tank that says the ammonia is not there and the test kit i have says it is .25 ppm.
no other fish in the tank is affected besides one other that is a female yellow lab she swims fine but i noticed she has red on her scales on her tail.
the filter is due for maintenance but i added more bio cylinders about a week ago
what can i do to fix this or am i going to loose my moorii
