Noticed a lot of algae build up on my tank. Aside from manually cleaning the glass weekly as I change water any ideas on how to minimize? I could search the Internet for ideas but why not go to the best source.... Hobbyist

Less time with lights on

Less light and maybe put in a snail or sucker fish ? You could even put in a couple mollies or guppies

Reduce the light to 6 hours a day for a couple weeks, then slowly build up to 8. If that doesn't work and the tank is big enough, get a nerite snail or two.

How often are your lights on?

Is your aquarium situated in direct sunlight? If so, how many sides are exposed?

Do you have algae eating fish?
