Possible ways to raise PH

What are some possible ways to raise the ph of my 55 gallon african cichlid tank.

Crushed coral in you filters. Use rock like limestone for aqua scaping. I personally am a fan of lace and Texas holey rock. Crushed coral or crushed oyster shell sand will also work. I use crushed coral and my ph stays around 8.5

Try to stay away from driftwood as that will lower ph. I only keep one piece so my pleco can munch on it.

Check local landscape businesses as most of them carry lace rock and for a fraction of the price that the LFS sells it for. Just make sure you clean it well and do a vinegar test before placing it in your tank.
