I like the Texas Holey Rock. They are becoming more expensive and uncommon.

I'm getting a few more pieces soon. I'm down here in Texas and Austin is a 45 minute drive and apparently it's all over the place down there. My uncle close to San Antonio has it on his land too.

I’d believe it - probably just need to know where to look (sorry, the prices for rock in this hobby gets me sometimes).

Some of the people that sell it around here try and rip you off with $3/lb and WE'RE IN TEXAS! We have one of the biggest limestone mining projects down by Austin. It's freaking massive and I'm sure it's there in huge numbers. Then you meet some people down here that just want to get rid of it for $1/lb and that's a lot more reasonable.

My LFS was selling THR for $4.50 per pound. I bought most of my THR last year for 25 cents per pound at a rock yard / landscape company. I have nearly 200 lbs. Of it.

When stocking any sized tank, you really need to consider the eventual adult size of the juvenile cichlids selected. A 125 gal. Could handle a dozen Firemouth cichlids, but only
One Dovii.

I have 9 in there right now. All different kinds of African cichlids.

Your cichlids will do a lot better with several stacked rock formations. Lots of fun creating a
hardscape.
