Will a uv sterilizer help eliminate ammonia and nitrites? I have to go out of town for a few weeks and my wife is unable to keep up with the massive water changes that my heavily stocked aquarium requires. Would a sterilizer help keep these levels down while I'm gone?

Hi, not that I'm aware of, I've never read of it helping there - it's more the nitrifying bacteria levels. I've not noticed a difference with them running.

You could try something like API nitra-zorb as a short term fix.

UV will not do anything in regards to your water chemistry. It is used to kill microscopic life (parasites, algae spores, etc).
