R/O water

Hi I'm progressing in my freshwater build a 60 gallon African Cichlid tank. I've been researching on R/O water. It seems that this type of water won't have the proper minerals to support and African tank. Is there any truth to this? If so are there any additives that can be used to replace the necessary minerals?

I buy RO water and I add a small amount of Replenish to it. You only need to use a small amount. It replaces the minerals. A bottle lasts about a year and I do weekly water changes on my 75 & 45 gal tanks. I buy it from Drs Foster & Smith or my lfs. I don't think Petsmart or Petco carry it and it's cheaper online anyway.

For african cichlids you don't need R/O water. If you want to be really particular, though, there are rift lake salt mixes you can add to RO water to get a very good facsimile.
