Rainbow (African?) Cichlids

We have just got our tanks started and my boyfriend got an offer for Rainbow Cichlids I need to know if they can survive in Saltwater? Those are the only setups we have are saltwater.. Please give me some information...Thanks

No, Cichlids are freshwater fish which many do like being in specialized water which has some certain types of salt, but they are not saltwater fish.
