Reef rock for cichlids

Hey guys! I posted here before about getting out of saltwater and switching to cichlids. I have quite a bit of rock in my tank (that’s covered in hair algae) that I could possibly re use. Of course I will pressure wash all the algae off first.
Would this be ok for cichlids? Or what is better? Are fake decorations better that can be taken out and cleaned?

Yes, I want African. The guy at pet store said I should use Texas holey rock for more hiding places. But I don’t really see a difference if I have caves and stuff

Yah, you're good. Only down fall would be the fish getting tore up if they're trying to flee aggression.

I see, thanks! I’ll keep thinking about it. Maybe I’ll try to sell my rocks in the meantime

That Texas holey rock is wayyyyyy overpriced. Use something else if you can and save your money for a cool peacock you want
