Rescued flower horn need help with an I.D

Hello I recently rescued a flowerhorn that had hex and person did not know how to treat. I got him and nursed him back to health but I am trying to ID him not sure if he is a kamfa or a srd. He still in quarantine tank.

Why does it matter what his I.D is? he's a flowerhorn and it looks beautiful but if you really need to know idk what kind he is.

Welcome! He looks beautiful. Smart to QT.

Unfortunately I am not a Flowerhorn specialist. Will move this to Cichlids for you to get more viewing.

Rule of thumb with anything, if you don’t know what it is, just leave it at a general term. Nothing wrong with mutts or hybrids.

I’ve had a plethora of midevils in my day, have had some wild caught and f1’s also. If I didn’t know exactly what they were i lumped it into a midevil...

Same with my dog, I know he looks like a pitbull and I do know his genetic makeup, half presa canario and half American pitbull terrier, but I still just call him a bully. Because that’s what he is. A mutt.

Just call it a FH, looks good, i haven’t followed FH’s for about 7-8 years. And tbh I was never really into them. You got a good looking fish for what it is, lots a spangles and great colors.
