So I wanted to get a trio of rams, I got them as juvenilles about eight months ago and didn't know what their sexes were. Now that they've grown, I recognize two males and one female. The two males are territorial and claim each half of the tank their own, and each try to hassle the female. I don't want the female to be under a lot of stress. Question: Should I get rid of that extra male so the two can pair off?

I think you should. It's unlikely IMO that they are going to settle down and start getting along with each other, and actually I'd expect the situation to get worse as they continue to mature.
