Safe rocks?

Is it safe for me to put rocks from decent sized river in my tank ? If so do i need to clean them? Boil them? What steps do i need to take . Aquarium will be set up next week

I have river rocks in my tank. I boiled tem for 30 min to kill anything living in them then head

Let them cool before putting them in the tank

It isn't safe to boil rocks. They could explode. I have heard of people soaking them in a vinegar and water solution.

A good scrub under hot water and a brush is all I've done for all my rock.
