Sand / gravel question

My son likes the look of the tanks I've switched to sand ... But he wants to be different... He's got a 44g breeder with a few convicts in it... He wants to mix his gravel with sand.... Is this ok? I dont see a prob but new to the sand thing... Except I know I love it!!! Lol.... My 140 is next... Thx in advance.....

You can mix them, but eventually the sand will settle to the bottom and the gravel will (for the most part) be on top.

K thx, that's what I thought... But if course my 16 yr old figured the sand would stay on top.... Lol.... Thx again
