I put a small piece (about 2x3") of seaweed sheet in my Malawi tank morning and evening. All the fish in it are omnivorous, and a couple species seem to prefer more veg matter than protein. Otherwise, I feed them either Hikari, or Omega One cichlid pellets, slow sinking. My question is: do they actually need the seaweed? I find several tiny pieces of mushy seaweed when ever I do a water change, so I'm not sure how much is being eaten anyway. They may be just shredding it in play. The species in the tank are: Malawi Butterflies, Demasoni, Redfin Borleyi, Acei, yellow labs, and catfish; synodontis cf_polli.
