Sexing cichlids.

So i have been reading about how to sex african cichlids. I have been told that the males have a gold like spot on their anal fins. Is this true? If not please tell me how to. Thank!!

What species are you speaking of? Coloration varies among the species.

Ice blue zebras, powder blue, yellow lab, yellow lab cross, kenyi.

kenyi juveniles and females are blue. males turn yellow.

It can be tricky with the labs. The yellow spots on the anal fin are a good way to identify sex in zebras and some others. But some aggresive females can have them too. During spawning you will see the males color get brighter also. Those are the very basic ways to sex them.. There are more thourogh ways to do so but im not 100% sure on how to do it
