Sexing Yellow Lab

Hello Every one,

I am trying to find out, Is the Yellow Lab that Dig in the Sands and move them around and Makes Cave is the Male? I have read that Males do it to attract Females. Is this a correct way to sex them as well? Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Male and female cichlids will dig pits and excavate areas under rocks.

The easiest way to sex them is to look for egg spots on the anal (bottom) fin. Male fish have round marks on the anal fin that resemble eggs, females don't have the marks. The egg spots on the anal fin are used during breeding.
