Yeah, maybe injury, or maybe a disease is causing his scales to peel? I am not the best at reviving fish from illness or injury, so maybe someone else could help you with treating the fish for whatever it has and prevent future incidents. I do know that if it is sick, you should quarantine it right away. If it is an injury, are any of your fish incompatible with each other (attack)? But other then that, I don't really know much on the subject, sorry. Hope this helped

I can't really tell but the first thing I would do is put him in a hospital tank and add some stress coat to help the healing process.
What's your stocking list?
