I have a tank with a mature convict and young Jack dempsey and green terror -- would it be safe to put a couple of snails in with them?

Another tank has 2 South African chiclids in--what about with them?

I seriously doubt any type of snail would last long with the con, JD, and GT.

What species are the South Americans?

One of my Bolivians used to eat smaller snails all the time. Never had any of my other Bolivians or GBR's touch them. I guess he had a taste for escargot...

i have kept larger Ramshorns Marisa cornuarietis as well as apple snails sucsefuly with convicts...

my experience with cichlids both s.a, new age, and african cichlids is snails dont last long. the apple snail lasted the longest in my s.a. and new age cichlid tanks. the african cichlids you run into the issues with the pH. as far as i know though no snail really took the onslaught my cichlids kept throwing at it
