Stitching on Discus Cichlid

Hey all. I have just bought two new discus cichlids for my tank and they are doing great. They are very calm and beatiful fish and seem to be very healthy. However after a little close inspection there are markings on both of the fish in the same spot where on one of them it looks like stitching.

I was just wondering if Discus fish can be dyed? Because the one blue guy has odd marking and every milimeter or so along one of the markings is a little vertical dark mark. The other orange one has the same but it's hardly noticeable.

I was just wondering if this was their markings or someone has dyed them... I really hope it's just markings.

Never heard of people dying Discus.
No t really much point as they're so bright anyway.

I'm meeting witha breeded in a couple of days and will ask him.

That's exactly what I thought. I think I'm being paranoid though. But I've been browsing the net through google and it's basicaly unheard of.

nope no dying there - just stress bars.
and i think the stiching you mention is natural too. (i think its called the lateral line) does it look like this? (notice the line going from the eye towards the tail)

According to http://www.deathbydyeing.org/colormedead.htm, discus fish can be dyed. Also some discus are injected with growth hormones to increase the coloring at young ages.

It is unlikely that is the case from what you describe, sounds perfectly normal to me.
