Hi I am starting a third tank project in my wall and I wanted to know people's ideas of a colorful active cichlids that I can put in a 55 gallon tank. Please anyone and everyone's input is greatly appreciated !!!

A nice colony of 10 - 8 Yellow Labs or some kind of Mbuna is always nice in a 55

Yeah yellow labs are always nice I deff think I'm going to put them in. What about a blue a nice blue color cichlid any thoughts

Protomelas Taeniolatus

Vibrant red to mix with blue and yellow;
Aulonocara "Ruby Red" (Many different names for this one)

A 55 gallon are much to small for Placidochromis or any hap for that matter,100 gallon 6' tank would be bare minimum for them.

Smaller Mbuna or Peacocks would be fine in a 55.

Ahh I didn't even look at his tank size. Just saw blue and had some in mind. Wasn't telling him to buy them! Is your tank 4'? A lot of Aulonocaras would be ok seeing as theyre peacocks, lots of colour which is what you're looking for.

If you are doing a species only tank I would do dems. Eventually I would like to turn my 75 into a species only dem tank. Get 12+

They can be some nasty nasty little fishies and will eventually dwindle your stock down

The more de demasonis you get the better. They will leave leave your other fish alone and kinda fight with each other.
