I have a friend who has an oscar in a 20 gallon tank. After i expressed how wrong keeping it in that small of a tank was he was ready to give it away. I told him id take it, but now im havin second thoughts on this.
Im wondering if the stunting process reverses, well the fish will start growing again at a normal rate.

I have a 125g with a single jag in it. Ive been looking for some tank mates so i thought this would work out well. If his oscar does not grow larger. Im sure it will be a pretty quick death.

So should i take the fish or let him try to find a lfs for it?

Go ahead and take him, but it depends on how long your friend has had the fish. If it's been more then 2 years, the fish is stunted, which is irreversible. If it less, then he could still be saved.
