As the title suggests, what would be the right amount of sand to use in a 55gal. Red devil tank. He's 3-4 inches now and does have a 75 to go in.

I'm just asking because I want to switch my 55 over to sand. And by how much I mean roughy in weight/inches deep.

Also brands/types of sand are Always welcome.

As always. Thanks AA.

I used 2 50# bags in my 90g. ( same foot print at 75 just taller) The 55 is a few inches narrower so if your going to move him to a 75g all in the 55 would just be a little deeper. In my 90 it's about 3.5-4 inches deep I'd say.

I use black blasting sand in all my tanks, fine grit.
