Hi I have recently been offered a uaru just over 6inches and they said it is very shy and not aggressive at all and is in a tank with platys and silver dollars and doesn't touch any fry do you think it would be ok to put in my community tank with guppy, platy and molles as long as it has enough hiding places?thanks

What size tank do you have?

It does like live food like brine shrimp but I can't say whether it would eat fry. Perhaps it doesn't in its existing tank because the parents of the fry are aggressive. As you know, guppies aren't exactly aggressive parents.

My tank is a 4x2x2ft and I can always move my pregnant females to another tank so that wouldn't be a problem I just don't want the uaru eating the fish
