With that nice low ph I'd be putting apistogramma on there

I'm no sure what apistogramma is, please excuse my ignorance. Is current pH acceptable? I have a kit which tests for it and had a liquid to increase and another increase.

Everyone says different things. Is there an ideal pH?

I just changed the filter as well. I could have gone another week or two, but I figured if there is anything toxic in the tank that would help, especially after the water change yesterday. I've also heard that the black tinge indicates aggression? But I can clearly see an all over color difference. Is it just adjusting, or am I looking at a potential disease here.

Well the rose queen is an aggressive hybrid. As is the other cichlid. They're both in small tanks. There isn't much help we can give you. PH doesn't matter. Keep ammonia and nitrites under 0.25 and nitrates under 40. That's all you can do until you get a bigger tank.
