Untill recently my gold saum was the tank boss but has since been rehomed due to hyper aggression... With saum gone my ebjd assumed the role of tank boss&has been for a month or so..so at some point today my firemouth decided to challenge the ebjd&has had him running since..what has happened to cause the balance of power to change? Both fish are at an even 3" with the SA pike(aka Egor) being about 4"..have giant danios in the tank as well..its a 75g mature planted tank..

It's normal. This will happen as cichlids get older

I would get EBDJ out of the tank, and put him alone when he reached about 5 inch, your firemouth will kill it. I have lost 2 of my EBJD. Because I was thinking it could go with other fish my big mistake. EBJD or weak under 5 inch. Before you now it they or upside down in your tank. For no reason. Or get pikt on. Just some advice. I have find out the hard way
